It’s no secret: we as independent podcasters perform a fine balancing act between honing in and bettering our shows while at the same time being able to finance our podcast for scale.
It’s been an ache for us all in the podcasting community for quite some time, and we all know we’d rather be spending more of our efforts on creating and putting out great content without having to worry about all of the messy finance details. Alas, we have good news. We've found the perfect solution: Patreon.
That’s right, Podomatic and Patreon have partnered up together to ease financing for your podcast production so you can spend more time on what matters to you and your listeners: creating.
Now, you may be asking, what is Patreon exactly? We’re glad you asked.
On Patreon, podcasters get ongoing revenue through payments from their fans -- either per episode or per month. This frees up valuable time for you to focus on improving your podcast, with a lot less stress. What’s even cooler is that with Patreon, you can even add incentives for your listeners to become patrons, such as with setting up benefits and exclusive content available to your top or recurring patrons. Starting today, Podomatic and Patreon are kicking off this partnership which provides Pro members the option to finance their podcasts via a Patreon button on their profile pages. Once the button is activated, your listeners can start donating right away!
There are two ways you can get your Patreon donation button activated on your profile:
Directly from your Settings Page:
Once you go into your settings page, you'll notice a new tab labeled Funding
1. Sign-up for a Patreon account by clicking on the orange Patreon button.
2. Build your Patreon Creator page and fill out your profile information (p.s. the more details, the better! It makes your profile more searchable on Patreon!) 3. Add the URL of your Patreon page into the link field. ..and that's it! From your new Standard Profile page:
Clicking on the activation button on this page will take you to your Settings page. After activation, your listeners will see the button on your web page and episode pages:
Pretty sweet, eh? Now, go forth and create while the money rolls in. ??

Two Artsy Gals is a conversational, lighthearted, and informative podcast covering all things mixed media art, crafts, and more. Katie and Loni are real “Jills of all trades” when it comes to their art so who knows… you could hear about basics like tools and techniques in one episode, altered books or origami the next, and then end up listening to one or both gals rant about a knitting/crochet/sewing project. These are some funny ladies who like to laugh and joke, and want to include you in their conversations about the things they love. Their hope is that you are thoroughly entertained while you learn from their shared experience in mixed media arts and crafts!
Katie kindly offered to talk with us about the Two Artsy Gals podcast and gives us her insight on the podcasting space. |
