Podcasting, as we know the term today, started back in 2004. While it was prophesied by some to be the new breakthrough medium at the time, it actually grew slowly up until 2014, at which point the popularity of podcasts had skyrocketed and its popularity today has nearly doubled. Today in the U.S., over 165 million people have listened to a podcast, that's about 51% of the country’s population.

Podcasting is proven to be a great equalizer enabling average individuals to reach the same audience as major networks and large corporations. This audience is growing with directories like Pandora and Spotify expanding their catalogs to include podcasts.

The 1st RSS feed podcast went onto iTunes in 2005, the same year we founded Podomatic with the mission to help turn hundreds of thousands of people into podcasters with our easy to use platform. For the past 14 years, we’ve worked hard to support independent podcasters. In fact, on our platform today, a podcast episode is published every 90 seconds, and if one were to listen to every podcast on our network, it would take 122 years!

Our goal has always been to simplify the process of publishing a podcast, regardless of the user’s technical experience. Although we've taken great strides to assist people with publishing their podcast episodes and getting their podcast up and running, we are now turning our attention to one of the more intimidating and technically complex hurdles for entry-level creators: recording their first episodes.

With this in mind, we're excited to announce that we are launching a new feature: Podomatic Recording Booth. Unlike other recording software available today our solution requires no downloads, nothing to buy, and most importantly, it’s so easy to use. You can start recording within 30 seconds after registering on Podomatic.

Recording Booth is a complete recording solution; it has built-in environmental and voice testing features to ensure that you will produce an optimal recording. During your recording, our system detects your sound levels and provides live feedback to keep you consistent. After you record, you can edit and cut out any parts of your recording that you don’t like; there's no editing experience or technical know-how needed. Finally, once you’ve completed the recording of your first episode, you’re one click away from publishing and sharing it with the world.

To try out our recorder, register at www.podomatic.com. Once registered, for quick access to the recorder click here: https://uploads.podomatic.com/mymedia/recorder

We have been part of podcasting since its inception. There is no denying that this medium is here to stay and now, with Recording Booth, we’re eager to welcome more and more podcasters into the community. We are proud to continue our mission of creating a platform and tools that make podcasting easy and possible for everyone.
