all about podcasting
A space to share contests, interviews, tips and more
With hundreds of thousands of podcasts on their platform, Apple Podcasts has made itself the biggest player out there in the world of podcasting. Since 2005 people have been listening in and downloading their favorite podcasts straight from their directory. As of 2017, over 55% of listeners consume podcasts from Apple Podcasts/iTunes, which is why it's so important that you get your podcast on the directory and in front of listeners. To submit your feed, you need to have at least one published episode. Next, you'll want to locate your RSS feed on your management page and copy the link. It's important that you submit your RSS feed and NOT your URL. Your URL will be rejected, and you can only submit your RSS feed once to iTunes. The screenshot below shows you where your feed is located. Next, head over to iTunes Connect and log-in via your Apple ID and password. If you do not have an Apple ID, you can create one here. Once you're logged in, select the "Podcasts Connect" option on the right. You'll then want to re-enter your Apple ID and password on the next page, and accept the terms of service. You can then paste in your RSS feed in the submission field and click "submit". Apple will then review your feed and notify you if your feed has been approved or rejected. This process can take up to several days. If your podcast is approved, you can manage your RSS feed on the iTunes store through the Podcasts Connect portal. You can learn more about submitting your feed to iTunes here. Check out our video tutorial below on how to submit your Podomatic podcast to Apple Podcasts:
